Anybody see him play in preseason? I did not but my gut tells me he's better than Baun, Sewell, or Jackson.

It’s not a matter if he’s lost a step, he’s still one of the faster LB in the league but he’s out of position a lot. For a LB that’s everything. They have to be around the ball to be effective. That’s why I was surprised we let Smith go. He was always running the ball down. I thought his spot was in cement. I’m sure they will try to bring him back after week 1 but that’s if he’s still available.

For no other reason that he doesn't go to another team and kill the Saints there like he has for the past few years.

He used to be the Kamara eraser. Crazy how fast he fell off.

He’s been bad the last few times I’ve seen him play. Last year it was reported that he had an attitude and work ethic issue. If that’s the case, no thanks.

I don’t buy that. Debo is a good dude. He’s always been reliant on his speed, think he’s lost a step.

Dude was a beast his rookie year. Tapered off after 2017 and has been terrible since. Did have knack for pickin Brees but that's about it.

Why Stop there other LSU Players looking for jobs right now

K Cade York( I mean lets face it better than Grupe because LSU)
CB Greedy Williams (Roby replacement no brainer)
LB Jabril Cox (undersized but he was a baller at LSU better than, Baun I guess)
WR Jaray Jenkins (injured but surely better than TreQuan when he heals)
DT Tyler Shelvin (Need some meat in the middle)
QB Danny Etling (Yes he is still bouncing around somehow but F Jameis am i right)

IF Allen can't see this makes a superbowl squad he should be fired right now on the spot.

Buy what you want. It was a story going around and he got traded by the falcons for a late round pick, the Browns voided a year of his contract and let him walk after trading for him and now the Panthers have made him an initial cut after signing him in the off-season.

Atlanta continues to monitor Jones' attitude and rehab from shoulder surgery. The decision on whether to cut him "has been more about his attitude and whether football ops wanted him around others."

the linebacker's work ethic has been questioned internally, per Schultz, even as his numbers have remained steady

LINK
quote:

Considering Jones' reported baggage amounts to an alleged poor attitude during the Falcons' regime change, the "risk" here seems like it'll be more about whether he actually improves Cleveland's run defense. Pass coverage has not been Jones' strong suit for years, but he offers 80+ career starts, lots of athleticism and motivation to thrive in fresh scenery. Worst-case scenario, he doesn't stand out, and they can release him after the year.

If Jones had a leadership presence for younger players, the team could justify keeping him in 2022. But he has been anything but that.
