Dallas invested heavily in the O line and we need to do the same

In 3 out of 4 of the latest drafts, they have selected an O-lineman in the 1st.

2011 - Tyron Smith, OT
2013 - Travis Frederick, C (and highly criticized)
2014 - Zack Martin, G

And add to that one UDFA in 2012 who panned out nicely and Doug Free, who they drafted in 2007 in the 4th.

And now they are reaping the benefits of this SMART drafting. Murray is running wild and Romo is having a career year because he isn't getting demolished every play.

The Saints need to follow this model, and we could do it this year by drafting a lineman in the 1st and 2nd, like a Guard and Center.

I agree. We need to invest heavily (and smartly) in both lines.

Could also trade that soft ginger for some proven player or players as well.

I don't think it'll be that easy to trade him with the massive contract he now has.

Who do we replace on the d line? Hicks? Jordan? Jenkins? Bunkley is probably gone anyway.

Hopefully we can get rid of him and Evans and Grubbs. Three millstones around our necks. See if Brees will take a pay cut if he wants better lineman and a stud wide receiver to tAke colstons spot.

Brees won't take a pay cut.

He should restructure though.

Then he deserves all the criticisms and ridicule he has received this year and going forward.

He will restructure.

Let's just hope junior doesn't get those sacks next game. Go Tampa D!

Restructuring could serve as well as a paycut if done right. Make it more incentive based. If we get better players, Brees will earn every penny.

He also has 2 WRs who are better than anyone we are putting on the field to catch passes. Terrance Williams would be the MAN here.

Don't forget we have Cooks.

Also, I would like to see what Stills, Toon, and Saunders do going forward.

La'el Collins would be a HR 1st round pick. Start him out at guard then kick him out to RT once Strief is done

Brees will restructure no doubt. Doubt a pay cut and he shouldn't considering he's the team. We'll only go as far as Brees anyway so a restructure makes sense because once he's gone the Saints are rebuilding anyway.

I don't think he'll be there. His versatility will probably make him a top 5 pick since he can play G or T.

Draft best defensive player available in the first. Then guard and center. Target Wide receiver and corner in free agency.

c'mon, man...cooks is very good, but he's tiny and will be a slot guy for his career. Stills has good hands and runs decent routes, but disappears and does everything humanly possible to not get touched after he catches the ball. Seriously, that guy falls to the ground if you blow on him hard.

Toon? Really? That guy has been here for years. He hasn't played til now. That should tell you all you need to know. Saunders??? When you get cut by the Jets, you shouldn't be in the conversation as an actual WR in new orleans.

We need a big bodied, fast WR who can run routes and get open. Period. We need it as badly as we need OG and C.

Stills and cooks are the only keepers at wideout. Colston and others are done.
