Current QB contract details

Here is a link of the current NFL QB's and what their deal is including guaranteed money. Gives you a baseline of what other are getting and maybe part of the detail the Saints look at with their negotiation with Brees and his agent.

Looking at the list, he deserves more then Flacco, Rivers, and Palmer.
At this point, Luck, Wilson and others have more upside.
Brady is the only one and maybe Ben who deserve hefty contract on what they have done.

Looking at the list it is clear that Brees is asking way too much at $25M/year average salary at his age. The $100M isn't really the most important number. The guaranteed $ is what really matters. I haven't yet heard how much guaranteed money Brees wants.
