Seems to me like this year and 2006 were very similar in this regard. For the divisional round in 06 and this year, the fans seemed cautiously optimistic, maybe not quite as confident in winning that game. The Cards came off a great game against the Packers and in 06 Philly was riding a big win streak, think it was 4 or 5 games. But once we won that game, we seemed pretty confident we'd beat Chicago. Seems to be the same this year with Minnesota. Interesting.

I recall people much more nervous about playing outdoors in that weather against chicago.

I don't think people are overly cocky right now, just extremely confident in this team handling business at home.

well i am more confident now because we play at home and have a defense. in '06 i wasn't too confident goin to play in the snow with only an offense.

only difference we are not playing in 10 degree weather and not in front of 80 thousand a-hole bear fans. I promised myself to never go to a game there again.

Well for starters we have a better team this year than we did in 2006. And secondly we'll be at home inside a dome as opposed to outdoors in freezing rain with a hostile crowd against them.

Huge difference between this year and 2006.

Oh, and Minnesota only seems to dominate the better teams at home.

I am still cautiously optimistic for this game also. I have huge respect for the vikings team. No way am i talking shite now jinxing the saints. NFW! We are better than 06 but we saw what overconfidence can bring at times. We beat the vikes and i will be celebrating my arse off. Even though i amjust a fan, i am focused and staying humble leading up to this game.

I seem to remember alot of our fans saying our D would be fine because Chicago's Offense sucked anyway and wouldn't score on us.

If you're not confident that your team will win then you are not a FAN. Fans believe and have faith and talk smack and stand up and yell and I intend to do all of the above. I am confident.

and we still hung in there til the 4th quarter only down 16-14, then all hell broke loose and our d fell apart. That weather killed us offensively also. we did not run enough from what i recall. The fact Billy facking Cundiff had a shot to take a 17-16 lead at one point was unreal. after that miss or block it was all downhill.

Much more nervous getting through the bye week and getting that first playoff win. Figured that any teams we met from here on would all be quality opponents. Not over or under confident just hung over as hell.
