Toby Gerhart looked amazing at Stanford too

He's versatile but I'm not sold on him as an NFL star

I think he was going for "the next small underrated white athlete in the NFL"

McCaffrey is a better athlete than Welker. He also plays a different position. I think its a dumb comparison.
Comparing him to Gerhart is dumb too, two totally different styles.
If we have to compare him to a white dude, id say Danny Woodhead maybe? Gerhart is probably more comparable to Trent Richardson.
Whats this have to do with the saints again?

Lol you have to compare white players to other white players. Reminds me of Steve Slaton from West Virginia. Extremely versatile, Mr. Do it all RB/Slot, but has the toughness to be an everydown back if you need him to.

FWIW he's listed as much bigger(6' 201 lbs) than everyone he's being compared to in this thread.

If he's transitioning to WR 3 inches matter.

Did I say he was moving to wideout? I just said he reminds me of Steve Slaton.

I know he's a RB, but his weight doesn't convert to RB at the next level. I bet someone sees his skill set and converts him to a slot receiver, kinda like Welker, Amendola, Edelman....

If you are going to compare him to a WR in the NFL why not just compare him to his father. Ed McCaffrey??

I've watched 3 or 4 Stanford games this season. He was impressive and I think he'll fit in at the next level.

He's not like his father at all. His father was as much a possession receiver as it got.

His son can flat out fly.

Either way, the Saints don't need him, we have too many of those guys on the roster.
