I know it's been said before and again and again but, from what we saw last year, Byrd has to be an upgrade over Kenny Phillips right?

Seems like Keenan is close to being healthy.

Until we find a pass rush, it really isn't going to matter.

I hate to break it to you, but a guy who hasn't played in nearly a year who looked like dog shite before he hurt himself, is not going to turn things around.

Best case scenario, he gets some snaps and maybe can make some sort of impact 4 or 5 games back.

And when I say best case, I mean, it ain't happening

God, I can't figure this out, is it a scheme thing again ala Spags or the talent isn't there?

Byrd is better than Phillips. That's not saying a lot though. Phillips was chillin on the couch 2 weeks ago.

I'd say it's problems in this order

Passrush>rob ryan>secondary injuries

Today I watched cam newton stare down Olsen for 5-7 seconds and then complete a pass to Olsen without getting touched like 10 times in a half. All of those 3 are contributing factors to why something that retarded can happen that many times

Most importantly, zero pass rush. Desperately need a defensive tackle (lineman in general) that plays nasty. Cam turns it on and off in some games but Hicks and Jenkins just don't have it. Seems like it doesn't bother them one bit that they get their shite pushed in snap after snap.

Lack of talent / youth in the front 7 will make even the best secondary look awful.

At this point, does it even matter? He'll prob tear his ACL in practice again. Dude doesn't give two shites after he got that money.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is why having a good draft is so important. For the first time since 2006, the draft this year actually seemed like a good one. I can't think of an actually decent draft between that time span where a bunch of rookies actually contributed to the team.
