This is the last post I see by him that isnt referring to Bunkley which proves that not only does he not know about the game, but he also does not know about the business behind it.

the most tackles Ellis has ever had in season was 30 in 2010. Do you know how many he had last year?

maybe you should get your stats from a legit website.

he had 44 the year before last and 30 last year.

totally agree.

but the PFF stat that the Bunkley cheering section uses is based off just that.

with a small sample size to boot, then calls him "elite"

dont get me wrong, i'm not knocking him as being a journeyman level DT FA signing, but to call the guy "elite" who was traded for a pack of skittles last year is just stupid.

Its based on disruptions, not tackles.

Bunkley is a 6 year pro.

last offseason he was traded for a 6th or 7th round undisclosed pick from Philly to Denver.

at Denver, he had 43 tackles, including 3 stuffs. This is the sample size that Pro Football Focus has used to label him the #1 run stopper.

he has never been an elite run stopper and the people who are saying this are basing it off 43 tackles... a season comparable to what we get out of Sedrick Ellis.

In Philly he was a 14th overall pick who never panned out. He was drafted to give a pass rush up the middle, and he never did that. He has six sacks as a pro.

If the Saints did indeed sign him, it's a quality depth pickup, provided we didnt overpay.

Don't expect an elite 4-3 run stopper. That he aint.

You may or may not be correct, but you did a very poor job at making an argument for your position.

Still waiting for you to give any evidence at all the back up your position.....

If it's just, "this is how I see it" as your evidence, then please don't start threads, and go back to licking glass

evidence he is not elite:

he was traded for a 6th or 7th rounder.

this is a fact, not some bullshite ratings scale developed by some dude in his grandma's basement.

Hey now. Although I'm not sure mine qualifies as "cleverly" anyway.

That's not evidence that he isn't elite against the run. The eagles also made an offensive line coach their DC last year. They also completely sold out to defend the pass and got the ball rammed down their throats every game. He then went on to have his second best season(using standard statistics) in Denver.

I'm not even saying he is elite against the run because I don't know for sure, I haven't seen very much of him. I also didn't start a thread trying to prove that he was without any substance.

interesting fact, individuals who tend to swing the other way are prone to calling themselves "pendulum" on internet forums.

Just because you got traded for scraps means you can't ever have a good year?

oh, i guess that's why they caused their #1 pick to suck arse, get beat out by a rookie FA, and trade him for next to nothing.

good reasoning.

I guess I'm done with this abortion of a thread if all you got is some stupid "whore" or "gay" jokes to defend yourself.
