Brees isn't taking a pay cut plain and simple. Backloading his contract is the best you're going to get

Forsett rushed for 182 and 2tds but yet it's Brees fault

In the off season Brees would command a very high price.
It would have to be a number of players and/or draft picks, sufficient to rebuild. The Cards won't have a high enough draft pick.
There are SO many holes on the roster that you've got to consider a radical move.
The Jimmy Graham signing looks bad right now, too. Both Graham and Brees are great players, but, this roster is SO bad that I don't see a SB in the future with these two on the team, not because of them, but, because of the rest of the roster.
Radical moves should be considered in the off season.

Then consider moving him. It's that simple. This franchise is going to need to rebuild to contend. It's broken right now.

Forsett looked like a greased pig tonight and people bitching about Brees. Turn the pick 6 into a punt and we still lose.

Jacoby couldve just have easily broken it off for a TD at some point

I'm not bashing Brees. I'm saying that the roster stinks on ice and the team is broken.
There are no easy solutions for improving things quickly, unless some radical moves are made.
All moves should be considered, but, that doesn't mean that all moves should be made.

Our margin of error is very slim. Brees is the only factor we have at a elite level on this team. Brees isn't the reason we are losing.

Jesus Christ.

You think maybe once the injured players come back next season that this will be all that's needed?
What's your solution?

This roster does not stink and the issue is brand new. No one could have predicted Jahri falling from the 3rd-5th best guard at PBE to last in 1 offseason.

We save at least $7.5 million by cutting Jahri and $6.6 by cutting Grubbs. We have some young, cheap talent there that has played well when given the chance. Guard is also a pretty easy position to fix in free agency.
Then you create even more space by extending Brees and possibly cutting or restructuring Bunkley, Hawthorne, and maybe even Morestead (saves $2.45 million)

Uh no. I just don't think getting rid of a 1st ballot HOF QB who has shown little to no signs of physical depreciation would be an intelligent move. Crazy, I know

We violated the age rule on the offensive line. We have promising young talent there that is also very cheap. We save $7 million by cutting Jahri ( ) and another $6.6 by cutting Grubbs. That is an easy position to address in FA or in later rounds of the draft if we don't like what we have in-house.
Lelito appears to be the center of the future. We need to make this change right now. He's exceeded expectations with his limited experience. Great run blocker
Our tackle situation is excellent. We have Armstead on a rookie contract and he is looking the part of an elite LT. We have Strief who is one of the best and consistent RT's in the NFL. One of the best tandems in the NFL
At WR we will probably try to restructure Colston to a team friendly deal or let him walk. He still gets open, but has had the drops.
Cooks looks the part and Stills is another good young receiver. Year 3 is when many WR's make the jump. Graham is obviously a monster and Josh Hill looks very promising too. We'll save $1.5 million if we cut Watson.
We have a shutdown corner in Keenan Lewis, a supposedly elite safety in Jarius Byrd, a good S in Bush, and then 2 prospects in Kenny Vaccaro (unbelievably good in 2013, terrible in 2014) and Sunseri. Corey White and Prob have shown the ability to play the nickel spot. They are terrible on the outside. We'll have to address that
At running back, we are going to let Ingram walk and turn it over to Robinson and PT. I wouldn't mind seeing what Reggie Bush goes for either.
This roster has some of the better pieces in the NFL. No one expected Jahri to be our biggest weakness last offseason.

Really? The guy that actually kept us in the friggin game screwed us? How about the defense looking like total shite? Yeah they are injury riddled but man you got to pay better than that. Drew has got to be perfect every game with this shite defense and drive 80 yards everyone cause the special teams suck also.
This. Drew is trying to make steak out of bologna with this group.
