#Saints VP and assistant GM for college personnel Jeff Ireland was requested to interview for the vacant #Chargers GM position, per me and
@TomPelissero. Prior to stocking the New Orleans roster, he was the #Dolphins GM.

#Saints VP of Football Administration and assistant GM Khai Harley has been requested by the #Panthers also for their GM job, source said.

I dreaded losing Ireland and Khai for a while now but I want it to happen just so there’s no one else Mickey can blame for his shite roster and cap management and the direction this franchise is going

This team is falling apart. It will be 15 years before the Saints turn it around

A part of me hopes they both go.

Let things just get worse around here and have Mickey more and more exposed.

For an organization to be middle of the road or lower, Saints FO is always getting poached by other teams or interviewing for other teams, Loomis must be a hell of a mentor

I don't agree just because Mickey is guaranteed to keep his job barring a major non-football scandal. It's pointless to root for his firing - he will not be fired. Mickey and Dennis Lauscha are the de facto owners of the franchise and will be handling the sale when Gayle dies. There is literally no way he's fired.

So I'd rather keep the brain trust in the building. I trust Ireland.

If I'm Ireland and get offered the Chargers job...I'd take it in a heartbeat especially if I get to pick the next coach. Already have your QB and enough pieces to immediately contend.

As for Khai...I'd want the promotion but that owner seems like a bit of a headcase and would probably be awful to work for

Good news with Khai is we would at least get a 3rd round comp pick. Plus, the "cap tricks" he helped popularize are already pretty well known at this point so I feel pretty good that we could continue without him.

Ireland is different imo.

If Ireland is the guy who deemed Turner, Ruiz, Penning and Foskey to be top 40 picks, then I hope he enjoys ruining the Chargers.

His youngest child graduates high school this year. From what I hear its the only thing that kept him around this long.

I’m not rooting for him to be fired. Any idiot can tell that’s not going to happen. But a significant downturn in the franchise would force Gayle to promote Mickey higher into the organization and give someone else a shot at GM.

And to be perfectly honest, it would be a much bigger loss if we lost Khai. Jeff has done some good things here, especially that 2017 class but he’s had some pretty big misses too.

Who is going to be left when someone comes to steal Loomis?

Agree with this.

Ireland was over college scouting and personnel. and that hasn't been a shining beacon of success lately.

Would love to see Loomis take a step back into a role behind the scenes and promote Harley to GM.

Completely disagree. What has he done outside of that 2017 draft class?

2018: Davenport, Rick Leonard, Jamerson, Boston Scott, TreQuan, Will Clapp.

2019: McCoy and CGJ

2020: Ruiz, Trautman, Baun

2021: Turner, Werner, Adebo

2022: Olave, Penning, Taylor

2023: Bresee, Foskey, Miller

Outside of: Olave, Bresee, Adebo and McCoy, not a ton to be excited about there.

They don't want any of Loomis's can kicking to get on them and cost them a job.

My post isn’t about Ireland or Khai

But

Werner. Taylor. Baun. Miller.

All are very promising starting caliber players that you build with.
