Put Archie, Brees, or Jim Everett at QB instead of Hebert and those teams might have won a couple of Super Bowls.

Negative. Put Saints in another division away from the 49ers and they get a few Superbowl appearances back then.

Even in the same division the Saints could have played the Niners even -- they already had the superior defense. A good QB -- Hebert was average at the very most -- could have made the difference. Make no mistake -- Hebert was the glaring weakness on what could have been a dynasty.

Anybody else remember the game against SF -- I think it was '88 or '89 -- where the Dome Patrol completely shut down the vaunted Niner offense, but fricking Hebert couldn't get it into the end zone and kept settling for field goals...

The score was 12-10 very late when Montana drove down and was able to set up a field goal. 13-12 game. All b/c Hebert couldn't get a TD.

I'll never forget Archie on the WWL broadcast as Montana led the Niners downfield: "I don't believe it, I don't believe it..."

bullshite. The secondary and Carl Smith are why there was never a dynasty.

I think the 12-4 team in 92 was better in my opinion.

13-12 game

It was 1989 and no one else held the 49ers to 13 points if I remember correctly. Fewest points they scored all year. They were a juggernaut.

One year only avg. giving up like 9 pts. a game and Hebert couldn't get it done on off. Also didn't Hebert throw 3 picks in the second half against the Eagles when the Saints were leading big time? The year was 91 or 92 I think.

That game was in !990 and Forcade was the QB.

I officially eat crow -- I know Bobby Hebert is waiting for my apology.

What I'll never forget about that game is Archie on WWL acknowledging the inevitable: "I don't believe it, I don't believe it..."

Never did the saints play the 49ers in the playoffs. If they can't beat the falcons, vikings, or Eagles at home how is this true

Put the Saints in the AFC, and this statement might be true. Mora's teams pretty much owned the AFC.

Give the saints 1 or 2 offensive weapons and they probably go to a few super bowls with the dome patrol

Again, people fail to realize that the secondary during the dome patrol era was total garbage. That's why they never went anywhere.

That was 1992 playoffs vs. Eagles. Philly won 36-20 in a game the Saints led at halftime. I'll never forget Fred Barnett making a big play for a touchdown which broke our back.

Hebert was a victum of a weak recieving corp and average running backs. He went to Atlanta and made the pro bowl with their group of recievers. Also, the Saints secondary was crappy. Think of how many mediocre QB's have won Superbowls. Bobby was good enough with the right supporting cast.
