I have nothing to contribute as far as your question goes....but I played Blitz at barcadia a little while back, boy that game did not hold up too well

You may want to try the gaming board. Not sure how many here have experience with this game

Our first decent team in Madden was 2002 which would have been based on projections for the 2001 season using 2000's results...If there is a Blitz 2002 that would probably be your best bet.
Edit:Blitz 2002 Initial release date: September 17, 2001 - This would be the game you want for decent Saints rankings. The 2001 game would have been the 2000 roster but with 1999 rankings.

Blitz used CPU assistance. You could play with Nichols St. and still be fine.

I don't know for sure, but given the window of this franchise and our seasons at being good.
NFL Blitz 2000 or NFL Blitz Special Edition (2001) may be your best bet.
Just to help you narrow this down, only 4 NFL Blitz games released on the Nintendo 64.
NFL Blitz
NFL Blitz 2000 (home port of Blitz 99)
NFL Blitz 2001 (home port of Blitz 2000 Gold)
NFL Blitz Special Edition

Man, that game would make me laugh and laugh.
You could just beat the shite out of your opponents after the play.

The Saints roster in Blitz 2000 contained Billy Joe Hobert, Eddie Kennison, Andre Hastings, and Alex Molden and I could still beat the crap out of the people

Playing with the Saints pre-Payton.

Ratings don't mean shite in blitz...
All you need to know is:
5 - 1 - 4 Up - Infinite Turbo
0 - 3 - 2 left - Fast Turbo running

blitz 2001, so the second one.
edit: Nevermind i thought there were only two made for n64 but 2001 had jeff blake as QB aka the playoff game winning team
