Turning out to be a bad move. He’s over performing and costing them a shot at a high draft pick. They should have went with Trask.

Allen with a sweet rollout in the red zone for a passing TD.

Baker Mayfield on the previous drive threw a dart for a TD.

It must be nice having QB’s that can perform in the red zone.

Tampa has a better qb than us, and a younger defense

Incredible performance by Baker Mayfield. Tough, patient, scans through his receivers. His check downs aren't panicky like Carr's, they're calm and efficient like Brees'.

I always laugh at the theory that you win by losing in the NFL. You know, cuz you'll pick five spots higher in the draft.

An in-depth survey of Super Bowl era drafts (no, I don't have the link anymore from right before the season started) compared the statistical output of the first player drafted at a particular position with that of the second at the same position, whether it was 5 picks later, 10 picks later, whatever. Know what percentage of the time the first player chosen outperforms the guy selected sometimes a third of a round or more later?

52%. Slightly more than a coin toss. I mean, yeah, over time that 2% margin can be counted on to produce a better outcome...over like 25 or 30 drafts, since that's how such slight differences in probability play out.

(Edited for clarification.)

I spent all offseason trying to tell people that $30 million was ENTIRELY too much money for Carr and that we should have just stuck with Dalton to save money. I was then repeatedly attacked with shite like "Well that's just the going rate for quarterbacks!"

This is my "I told you so"

Dennis Allen sucks and all, but I think I would take him over Todd Bowles, a guy who was made a head coach when he wasn't even in the state.

And they can't score 20 points either.

last 3 Baker Mayfield games points scored: 6, 13, 18 all losses. You'd think BM is some revelation by some posts here - he's average.

Grass is always greener.

Hey now, the pro-Carr blowhards don't like when you tell them they're the ones who are actually idiots after they spent 8 months telling you that you're the idiot and Carr was good.

Truth. Thank God I didn’t spend all offseason performing mental gymnastics to convince myself Derek Carr was going to be good.
