I am a lifelong Saints fan, but I will pull for whoever I want in the AFC, and if it’s because their QB was the single greatest player in LSU history, that’s my business.
Don’t worry… I was born a Saints fan. I’ll pull for them against the Bengals regardless. But to expect me not to pull for Burrow otherwise is dumb.

I’ll root against them any time they play the Saints, my team since birth. What’s the issue with liking players and rooting for another team outside of that? Like in the Super Bowl when they’re played a team most Saints fans loathe.
Tribalistic fans are weird. It’s ok to like players outside of your own team. Especially when you have a strong connection to them like LSU fans do with Burrow and Chase, or Mathieu. I’m happy he got a ring with the Chiefs, love to see Tigers winning in the pros.

I'll be pulling for the Saints that game, Saints always come first.
I don't see what's wrong in pulling for the Bengals when they aren't playing the Saints though. Their other NFC opponents this year are the Falcon, Bucs, Panthers, and Cowboys. Any Saints fan should be pulling for the Bengals in all of those. And then Bengals vs. the AFC doesn't affect the Saints unless the Saints are tanking for draft picks which they won't be.

I'm curious as to what is it that you can't bring yourself to pull for Burrow and Chase? The greatest and most decorated players in school history. And you wonder why we would pull for them to win with the Bengals? Really?
I mean, it's not an either/or deal. We are all Saints fans and pull for the Saints to win that day, but also pull for them to succeed. Is it that some of you are jealous of the attention Burrow gets that you make such retarded comments and remarks?

You likely (or possibly not) root for the Saints because they are the pro team in Louisiana and for no other reason.
Yet for many years Tom Benson repeatedly tried to move the team, including after Hurricane Katrina. The state of Louisiana had a terrible agreement with the team.
I graduated from LSU. My wife graduated from LSU. My wife currently works for LSU. I give money regularly to LSU. I want the university to be talked up as much as possible. Guys like Burrow and Chase are deeply connected to LSU. Same for several other LSU players. I would argue that right now LSU players are similar to Miami players from the 90s where you always link that player to the school anytime a discussion about them comes up. The same can't be said of many other schools.
So when the Saints play the Bengals, I will root for every LSU player to have a great game and stay healthy. I will hope the Saints win, but I won't be heartbroken if they lose. I will enjoy the game regardless of the outcome minus any injuries.
