We can still win the Super Bowl AND keep our stud DC now that all the hoopla has died down!

I never really believed he was going to be interested in a HC job anyway but I think we're safe now (and his defense isn't the reason we lost to Dallas and TB either - it was our stagnant offense).

it's almost like he's as good as the talent he has on the field...

Hoopla can also be referred to overhyped.

Since when is giving up a 17 point lead considered "good defense". In the NFL, a defense should be able to protect a three score lead without too much difficulty.

I think Gregg Williams needs more defensive talent to work with, but I don't think he is going anywhere. Too many big names like Bill Cowher, M. Shanahan, etc. who are out there. And teams like St. Louis, Detroit, Kansas City, Tampa Bay, etc. who are not doing well just hired new coaches last year, so they are not going to get a new coach.

Who may be gone:
Bills need a new coach, but Williams isn't going back there. Redskins will need a new coach, but I don't think Williams goes there either. (Shanahan may get that job) Who else is looking, maybe the Bears, Raiders, Jags and Browns? Possibly the Cowboys, but I don't see Williams and J. Jones getting along.

We have scored less than 20 points exactly twice this season..the last 2 games. 17 point lead in the second quarter is not the same as the fourth. The Saints need to realize that they are going to give up points, so they need to try to score 50 every game regardless of how big the lead gets. People have ripped Belicheck for running it up for years but he knows this and knows the best way to keep his offense running is to keep it running.

uhhh, yes it was, if he would get his defense off the field then maybe our offense would have more time to be productive.

this. he keeps the foot on the pedal and thats what the saints needed to do and start doing again.

So our defense giving up over 400 yards in the last two games had nothing to do win us losing

exactly. didnt we give up almost 500 yards to another rookie qb and a mediocre rb. im tired of our D making every run down running back look like all stars. the same can be said for the crappy qbs as well.

No. That's like saying a pitching staff that spreads out 10 hits and 4 walks but only allows 2 runs is to blame for a loss.

The offense needs to wake up and score. Bottom line.

Yards don't matter on the scoreboard. When the defense allows a 50 yard drive but intercepts the ball in the end zone that is a successful series. Bottom line. Nothing else matters.

They held Tampa to 10 points in regulation. That should be more than enough for the best offense in football.

Now stop using facts to support your silly little theory that the Def. only gave up 10 points.

The D didn't play great of course, but they did do what they were designed to do when we spoke about them in the preseason. Minimize the damage and create turnovers. The offense didn't hold up their end

I wouldn't call letting a running back who hasn't had a 100+ yard game since 2006 "minimizing damage"

Look I really don't give a shite that we lost...it happens. But what is more concerning is the fact that teams have found a formula for success. They are going to run the ball, run the ball, and then run the ball and unless we get off our arse (Be it greg williams & the D or Drew Brees and the O) then the possiblity of being a one and done is very real.

So maybe the offense didn't "do its job" by scoring 45 points a game...but the defense sure a shite didn't help matters out by leaking like a broken faucet.

Since when is holding a team to 20 points not enough for our offense to overcome?

What would you call holding that team to 10 points?

Last I checked...the score was 20 to 17. So holding that team to 10 points would've been great; but we "held" them to 20 points and lost.More importantly we "held" them to a paltry 176 rushing yards.

ETA: I'm not here to argue with you about which side of the ball played shittier against TB. But to sit here and say that it's only the offensive side's fault because they didn't score enough is BS.
