This is a real bad indicator for the first game of the season. Teams that eventually reach the playoffs allow an average of 3.9 ypp on game 1. Add to this Arizona was last in league with run production and lost their best back during game and you can see where we are heading. Oh, and Carson Palmer also sprained his knee before half. First season in years that I have no confidence in team. 6-10. Believe it.

Cards have morphed into the 85 Bears in the last 30 hours for excuse purposes.

They did start last season 9-1 before their QB blew out his knee and then the backup got hurt too...

Missing two starting lineman they had more yards and scored as many as in any of those 10 games.

What a random and honestly useless bit of trivia.

You just made this thread to say "saints suck and I have no confidence in them"

Yeah but their offense is closer to middle of the pack. It's their defense and special teams (and home field) that sets them apart.

I really disagree with this - yards per play is a huge metric amongst stat geeks - guys like Barnwell and Mays definitely base their judgement on a team's quality by using this as a key indicator and more and more gambling and league guys buy into it as a more meaningful statistic than Wins/Losses or even points scored/allowed.

What's worse is we will play well in the Dome this weekend and this board will be optimistic about our chances.

Here's to 8-8! (If we're lucky).

Well I'd certainly be more optomistic if we play well this weekend.

If we lose, the season is likely over

Beating a bad team is important to becoming a good team...
