"Luck" plays are just opportunities. Good teams use them to find a way to win, bad teams blow them and find a way to lose.

Oh, sorry - I read 2-14 and thought you were talking about the Saints record.

Me too. We were really lucky in 09. But like someone said, luck is usually the result of hustle. Meachem against Washington was a huge hustle/luck play.

And HH, don't give double too much trouble. He always posts here. Rittdog on the other hand is a major troll.

Exactly. I actually like and respect the Saints. I just think there has been too much going on for them this year to compete with the Falcons.

When you get your HC back. Then it will be battle for the top spot in the division again.

You think there is a battle when Payton gets back? He owns your broke asses.

They remind me of us back in 2009 with getting all of the lucky bounces their way and squeaking by in close games

You are out of your element....

In 09 here is the point differential in the first 8 games for example:

18
26
20
14
21
12
8 (Falcons, games are always tight)

So which one of those games did we squeak by???

In previous years sure, he does. This doesn't appear to be previous years though.

Then again, I still think we split with the Saints this year. You're O isn't complete poop.

I took the comment as "lucky bounces" being all the ints and such the Saints had that year. I remember y'all being something absurd like +59 in the turnover margin.

Don't get it twisted, y'alls D back in '09 wasn't great. I think most people who watched the Saints D objectively that year would call them "opportunistic" and "bend but don't break".

Well when your offense is putting up a 40 spot virtually every game, it forces the opponents to press and start trying to force things...In turn, we had a ton of turnovers....Our D was as good as it needed to be

I don't really see how there is much luck involved

Oh really? Well I guess you'll just have to enjoy this agonizing and painful defeat this year from the Falcons.

For you sake, hopefully the season is "over" by the time you play the Falcons.

Its like zombie movies where the guy knows he's about to be eaten by a zombie. And instead of getting bit he puts a bullet in his head. Thats sorta the best way to go. Falcons are coming, so hopefully you're out of your misery by then.

... I never said the Saints in '09, just was trying to exlain what I thought the previous post was stating.
Then again, I also don't make the statement that the Falcons D is a lucky D this year either.

If you say the Falcons D is lucky this year, then so were the Saints in '09.

Outside of the SD game, what exactly makes you so confident in your team??

I mean its not like yall are dropping the hammer on everyone.

Peyton was terrible in the first half against yall, and managed to almost win the damn game. In ATL I might add.

If Cam doesn't fumble the ball backward like a retard, you lose.

RG3 got knocked out in the first qtr, and Cousins almost pulled out the W..

I love overconfident fans

Same case could be made for the Saints 2 wins. If not for that no-PI call (which obviously was PI) in the SD game, y'all lose. And then in the Bucs game, they basically tied it up but y'all won on a technicality (which the NFL has come out today and said they're going to review that type play) on the pushout and not being the 1st guy to touch the ball, etc.

Just saying, you can make a case for every team in any game as to why they almost won a game.

We're not the ones trolling yalls boards talkin shite.

You and Rittdog act like yall have been playing lights out football and are unbeatable.

I'm the first to admit that we have struggled so far...Our 2 wins were close, but so were all of our losses, so it can be looked at both ways....And we were put behind the 8ball going into the season.

You think yall would be winning yours games if that douchebag Smith was suspended?? I highly doubt it..

All I know is that if we make it into the tournament, we will be the last team yall wanna play...I will leave it at that

That penalty devils advocate argument doesn't really apply to the Saints this season. The Saints in the Chiefs game were flat out robbed of points and huge chunks of yards by the Officials. The "holding" call in the Packers game as well. As many favorable calls as we have received, and yes we have received quite a few, the Saints have also been on the shitty end of the stick for plenty of calls. Call it what you will, but they have evened each other out.
