They are still the most talented team on paper in the NFL South AND they now have (easily) the best coach in the NFC South.

But by forfeiting a Day 1 impact player like Odunze or Bowers (on a cheap contract for 5 years, no less) they gave NO and TB a huge gift.

Imagine pairing Odunze with London, Pitts and Bijon Robinsin in a pass happy offence led by future HOF'er MAGA Kirk Cousins. Yikes.

Such a huge swing and a miss by them.

I've always defended Arthur Blank, but ya'll were right this entire time. He does make good hires (everyone loved Arthur Smith when they made that hire, Raheem Morris is a fantastic coach and just needed another shot) and executive decisions, but he meddles too much. Apparently the Penix pick was 100% Arthur Blank.

Pretty wild to say cousins aint that good when he has kicked our shite in during important games.

Still, Atlanta being good has to been seen to be believed.

Cousins is awesome, and he's gotten better and better each year. He would have been a legit MVP candidate if he hadn't gone down.

That MNF game he played against San Francisco was the best QB performance of the 2023 regular season.

Raheem is a great coach, he just wasn't ready to be a HC when Tampa hired him. That was years ago.

I'd definitely take him over Allen or Bowles. Caneles will probably be closer to Morris in his earlier stint.

who's definitively better? certainly not Dennis Allen or Dave Canales. Maybe an argument could be made for Todd Bowles.

He was probably the third or 4th most important piece to the Rams Super Bowl run after Stafford, Donald, and McVay.

The Falcons are a joke until proven otherwise - no proof of concept they can utilize their weapons and they still have a weak defense especially rushing the passer.

Another sneaky factor is their non-divisional schedule next year - road games at 3 favorites to win their division: Buffalo, San Fran, and Dallas. They also have Jacksonville and Miami on the road, where they will be underdogs. For home games they get the Eagles (likely a rebound team) and Detroit (4th best SB odds).

I don’t think highly of Penix. I thought he had poor footwork with traffic in the pocket. And I thought his throws were significantly effected when he was off platform.

Having said that. If he ends up being good, Atlanta will own this division for 10 years. They are about to have 50M in 2 years…potentially with a good young QB.

They are going to stomp us this year assuming Cousins is healthy.

Hell no, we aren't afraid of them.

But this I don't agree. Cousins was a league leader in the NFL before he got hurt last year. I've had him as my fantasy QB for two years so I've followed him closely. Having Justin Jefferson helped him, but he is now the best QB in our division.

Again not afraid, but they got a decent young roster and cap space. Bijan is a hell of a player. I'm still salty they were able to sign guys we developed in Kaden Ellis and Onyemata because we are always in cap space hell.
