No because Jimmy was a very rare stud TE.What pissed me off is we gave a 4th round pick. Not that Max Unger is not a good solid pro bowl player but jimmy was special.look if Saints stood firm the 31st an Unger but no 4th round pick for Jimmy the Sea Hawks would have caved.

Unger for Graham, straight up, I think we come out ahead. Hopefully he anchors our (upgraded and young) offensive line, gives Brees more time to throw, helps the running game to take root.

Brees throws a LOT, and Graham won't see those numbers in Seattle. I'll be curious to see how his blocking is received up there too.

Why do people just dismiss this like it's reason to have shitty offensive options?

Do people realize Jeremy Shockey is in the top 10 in yardage for Tight Ends all time?

and our offense as a whole was a lot better. On the OL, at WR, and at RB.

when the season ended I hoped we would improve the O-line and the front seven on defense.

I think we did that tonight.

maybe not the way I envisioned it but it rarely is.

you know?

just an opinion.

There were locker room issues. Graham wasn't handling fame well. Don't forget we got rid of Stills too.

Here's what we need to trust- everyone acknowledges Payton is an offensive genius, and Brees is the perfect fit in his system. Brees has been averaging around 5000 yds a season passing, with or without Graham. Graham, in fact, is the only receiver we've had that has been considered elite, the rest have basically just been the beneficiaries of playing in this offense. The immediate result of this trade is that Brees should have more time to throw. I'm pretty sure we're going to see somebody emerge, just like they have every season Brees and Payton have been here.

The fact that we get a linebacker in the first round makes the deal clearly in our favor.
