Will happen this year. I think the offense goes back to its Championship roots. A smash mouth west coast team with a lot of deep play action shots. We’ve seen this team is at its best when the run game is working. Too many times Payton decided to not run the ball and it costed this team. Also having a guy like Winston with a big strong arm and some mobility, setting up the run game and giving him PA shots should increase his production and minimize his turnovers. I’m probably being too optimistic but I see the potential with this offense. I miss the good ole Ball control wear them out Saints offense that would go on 7+ minute drives. Pair that up with an aggressive opportunistic defense and we should be duking it out with Tampa again for the NFC South title!

I definitely can see a balanced offense happening to take the pressure off Jameis.

However, if Taysom is the QB, Kamara could have his worst year. Less carries, less rushing TDs, and less passing rec/TDs.

Lol no.

It’s going to be a little bumpy next season to say the least.

Alvin Kamara could be the MVP of the league and still not rush for 1,000 yds.

Also just to be clear, I’m not saying the offense will return to championship form. What I’m saying is, this team will lean on the running game and be more of smash mouth team. One positive about that is Andrus Peat is a better run blocker than pass blocker. Funny because I’m sure PFF has that the other way around.

I disagree. Payton is a master at putting players in the best position to succeed. Look at our record with Bridgewater at the helm or without Brees. We still win.

We need a Mike Bell type guy.

That wears the right cleats, of course.

We may potentially have that in the UDFA from Indiana.
