He was ahead of everyone when he said the Saints were serious about Watson.

He also goes on to say this
quote:

The Saints are regarded as an attractive potential destination for Watson, per league sources.

If the trade doesn't gut us, our floor is a top 6 NFC team with Watson

If you have to cut bait with Marcus Williams and Terron for Watson you do that without a doubt

We aren’t moving Ram. He just restructured. Maybe McCoy, but not Ram.

He's a free agent. He can go wherever he wants. Saints can't trade him

It's going to take a lot more than the oft injured LT. Texans will want to rebuild with young talent.

Ram and McCoy are the only starters that matter. Retaining them is key.

Ruiz is awful. Pete is average. Armstead is a stud who can't play a full season.

I think it will ultimately come down to how well his meeting with Carolina goes. Carolina's picks will be more attractive to Houston and the Panthers can throw in CMC. But to Watson, is Carolina really the place over New Orleans? Look at their culture, the lack of weapons if they trade CMC, a new OC in McAdo and really only DJ Moore. Subpar offensive line. If Rhule doesn't make the playoffs, he's out. Maybe he sees that as a plus in getting to pick his own coach? They can't sell that with Rhule in the meeting

The Saints wont trade Kamara or Thomas so that's likely going to be more attractive to Watson, even if the Panthers keep CMC out of their trade package to the Texans, which in essence makes our offer stronger. Even if we lose some OL in the trade, playing with Thomas, Kamara and a badass defense he's never had is bound to be more attractive. New Orleans is a team ready to win. Carolina isn't close.
