Does anyone else think that the Saints had enough time to try a 5 - 10 yard sideline pass that could have possibly put them in FG range, instead of going for the Hail Mary?

Not with 5 seconds left. With 8, we would have had a shot

not enough time. 7 seconds. maybe... you almost gotta bank on the miracle or Pi... just the other kind of pi.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but had there been a DPI call in the endzone, wouldn't we get 1 play at the 1 yard line too? The game can't end on a penalty for the defense? Smart move being 5 seconds, but crazy to call a PI when hand checking happens everytime on plays like that, especially to end a game.

It would have been very close, and not worth it considering Drew was able to get the ball to the end zone.

If you are looking for changes in the final drive, I would focus on the fact that there was absolutely no hustle from any of the players to get set. A few times you could see WRs just standing around, played lined up wrong, slowly jogging to the LoS. That is probably why SP felt the need to call the TO earlier rather than let them spike the ball; this team has no sense of urgency.

I agree. In years past there was intense hustle to get to the LOS and spike or hurry a play. Too much roaming around and loafing.
I watch Luck and the Colts and see the old Saints hustling to the line with the no huddle two minute drill.
