Respecting a team and being scared of them are 2 different things.

You guys really scared of alex smith and the 49ers? Recently, some guy named kellen clements almost beat them today, and last week, they needed tavaris jackson to have multiple epic meltdowns to win. All while the Saints have recently been beating teams by 2-4 touchdowns.

Odd that 2 of our 3 losses came against 2 of the 4 worst teams in the NFL.

I think that suggests that the Saints' problem is consistency, not talent. There's no denying that the Niners aren't very talented in some key areas, particularly QB and DBs. Should the Saints beat the Falcons I think it will be an interesting match up at Candlestick, the game last time around was close and that Niners team had piss poor coaching.

ETA: Just realised the Saints are playing the Lions.

First, it's the Lions not Falcons

I'm not particularly worried. They will be a tough matchup, but the Saints passing attack is by far the best they have faced. The Steelers game was enough for me, their receivers and TE were running wide open, but the gimpy Big Ben just couldn't deliver accurate passes. The Steelers also ran well on their defense as well. I think so long as the Saints can protect Drew he will do his thing. Problem is that in the past, not so much this season, the Oline hasn't done all that well against 3-4 defenses in pass protection.

The Saints when needed against run heavy teams, Turner/Peterson/Johnson have shut down the running game. The Saints will make Smith beat the Saints in the air. I'm not very worried about him at all. My only concern would be Ginn breaking a tackle or somehow finding the pocket between the corner and safety and using his great speed to run for a bunch of yards. It's good he isn't a big part of the offense and drops a bunch of passes. Well him, and Davis the TE being defended by Harper or our slow LB's.
