But now every time the opponent is stopped on 3rd down it's a "faaaan impact play", regardless if the ball hits the CB in the back of the head or the qb underthrows the ball.

I always sort of liked the intro to Beat It by Michael Jackson.

I did hear them blasting Thriller before we played the Steelers on Halloween at the Dome in 2010. That was the first thing I heard as I began the walk up the steps in the Upper Terrace.
edit: hearing Thriller that night reminded me of 3rd down music (Beat it) from 2001. Maybe they didn't use it every time but I know they used it enough if it brought up a memory.

The annoying PA guy kept yelling, "It's thirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd downnnn for the Patriots." Then if it was a stop it was "That's another faaaaannn impact play!" even in the 4th quarter when there were about 20k in the stadium.
They really expert at being annoying as hell on defensive third downs. Train whistle, air raid siren, now this bullshite.
