We've all been so busy melting that I don't remember one post mentioning this (maybe I missed it).

But can you imagine if he had hit it? It was a great pass from Lonzo too.

I mean he really did almost make it. It wouldn't make up for the epic choke but it would have been another notch in his ascendency to greatness.

The crazy thing is with Lonzo and Zion, that was not a a fluke/lucky play. It seems like something you could reproduce if you needed to.

What's crazy is that we got a clean good look with one second left and the length of the court to go with no time outs, yet we can't even inbound the fricking ball from half court coming off a time out.

i just went and watched what OP is talking about. I'm kind of surprised he missed that to be honest. He almost could have made a one step dunk on those type plays.

And he got at least as much contact (on his body/off arm) as Dame did at the end.

The referee closest to the play at that moment? Josh Tiven - the same Josh Tiven that butchered the Pels game a few weeks ago with blown calls and ran JJ because he got his fee fees hurt on a bounce pass.

No excuses because the offense was an abortion the last 6 minutes, but the officiating was awful.

Lillard got the full Harden treatment. Flopping his bitch arse all over. Getting breathed on and getting the call, etc.

I mean we got the inbound, NAW just turned into Omer Asik and a short, perfectly catchable pass went through his hands and bounced off his chest.

It’s unfortunate Zion couldn’t have a nice hall of fame highlight to save the game, but we honestly didn’t deserve it at that point.

Just have to hope the team responds the right way because we play them again Thursday. Recent indications suggest we will.

There has been a shockingly lack of mention of this but the moment I saw his face I said to my girlfriend, yep, it’s him, here we go. Portland will have the FT advantage by the end.

And sure enough...

It’s really a problem when fans basically know ref crews by heart because they have traceable biases and ways they will call games and certain teams.

I mean Does Portland deserve Dame?

No but they still get big game heroics constantly.

What's crazy is that Zion had to attempt a last second shot when they were up 17 with 5 minutes to go.

That entire OOB play was a cluster. What was Bledsoe doing running in front of the inbounder? Why didn't NAW break back into the backcourt? With his speed he could have burned 2 or 3 seconds off the clock before being fouled. SVG needs to study Brad Stevens' inbound plays.

This is what happens when you don't have a guy with elite foot speed on the court. These stupid inbound issues should die once Kira is inserted in the closing lineup.

Said that on the inbound. I could not believe Kira was not in the game to run into the backcourt.

Was it not surprising that JJ got tossed for spinning a ball to him, yet Melo did not get one for intentionally shoving Hayes for no reason. I could not believe he did not get a T.

The TV announcer said that was not an option during the play. I don't know if that is accurate or not, but I remember him saying that.

I agree that Zion was very close to making that shot at the end. Would have been a great highlight for him and Ball.

Even despite Zion missing the last shot, that Lonzo pass might have been the best I've ever seen. Not joking.

I didn't watch on TNT so I don't know if they showed a replay of the last shot but fxno didn't show a replay. I would have liked to have seen it slowed down or from another angle or two because I'm sure there was contact. I'd like another reason to be pissed.
