No, we have Jose who plays the same position and is a capable defender.

No problem.
Now don’t get me wrong, Colin IS a better player than Jose, but with his salary and us already having a cheap guy at that spot, he’s just not worth it for us.

Sexton is better overall than Jose, but not that much better to where it’s worth giving up picks and taking on his salary. If we’re gonna upgrade our backup point guard, we can do better than Sexton.

We have too many guards as is. The only way a Collin Sexton would make sense is if we offloaded CJ Mccollum to carve out the salary space and role for Collin. And CJ is probably viewed as nearly untouchable to this front office due to his leadership and professionalism.
As much as I thought Collin could make sense for this team a few years ago, he doesn’t make a ton of sense now.

Good, not great player at a position of want, not need. They would have to sweeten, IMO, for us to take on his co tract
