Will the pels ever get this kind of local support?

stolen from saints talk.

quote:

Richard Deitsch ?@richarddeitsch 37m ESPN's top-rated markets for NFL Draft: 1. NOLA; 2. Birmingham; 3. KC; 4. BUF; 5. Dayton; 6, JAX; 7. Pitt; 8. Mil; 9. Cincy; 10. Nashville

the saints have always had their loyals myself included but the success beginning with this new regime and culminating in the superbowl increased the fanbase exponentially. when we win a title in 2016 will we see a stat like this in the pels favor?

The Pelicans will win a title. But we may not see that kind of stat with the draft. I don't care.

New Orleans viewers follow NBA basketball more than people who don't look into such things realize.

I don't think we will ever see that kind of stat with the draft. success means late round pick which is very uneventful in nba drafts. I mean in terms of local support for the team. would winning a title sell out games and have people at bars talking about the pels not just the saints? it's hard to go a day ,any day not necessarily just during the season, without seeing someone in saints gear. I want that type of devotion and loyalty to the pels.

It'd be awesome. When I was partying in Oklahoma City last year the Thunder were the talk of town.

I won't be going back there anytime soon. Way too boring of a city. Although I wouldn't mind catching a Pelicans-Thunder game there.

Well, during the "glory years" .. . or nine months , whatever . . . in 2008-9 there was significant visible support. Had the franchise not crashed and burned who knows what would have happened?

Look, I'm pretty sure the Saints will always be number 1 unless they really go into the crapper for years in a row while the Pelicans are contending for championships. They've been here for 45 years or so. And this is football country. Nevertheless, once the Pelicans establish a winning tradition they'll attract more fans and interest.

being called a pussy by the ot is equivalent to eric Gordon calling someone injury prone

The phrase I'm a Pelicans fan still sounds odd to me.
