Guy is a horrid game coach and relies solely on having much better players than the competition which really isn't possible in the NBA to the same extent as college. This year his all star team has been struggling mightily against sone awfully mediocre sec competition.

He knows how to manage egos and would further solidify the chances of keeping our 2 superstars long term

Would also likely attract FA talent

If there was any better option out there i may not be as high on cal. But really, i have no idea who else would fit at this point.

Like it has been pointed out already i like his ability to recruit. Some coaches learn from their failures at it makes them better. However, it does not seem like he wants to go back to the NBA so it really does not matter.

Cause the ex-players love the guy, and he could likely recruit players to the Pels that he once coached now that he has the 2 best KY players in the NBA on one team. It's that simple.

Sometimes it's more about managing attitudes than making in game decisions, especially in a sport like basketball. Look at Johnny Jones last year with Simmons, TQ, Blakeney, Hornsby, Gray, etc., he did not know how to manage big egos and the team was terrible. On the other hand, Coach Cal takes guys who would be stars at other schools and gets them to UK being okay playing ~20 minutes a game.
