This team is so schizophrenic/bipolar.

They can miss up to 4 starters/key bench players and, at home, still convincingly beat a conference leader/title contender.

Then they can be fully healthy or miss just one starter and lose by 15+, usually on the road with ice cold shooting, dumb fouls & lazy turnovers.

Then they can play so dominantly, they look like the best team in the West, and at times, arguably best in the whole league.

It's a real head-scratcher.

It’s health. When we’re healthy, we roll. I’d say top 5 team in the league. Right now we are missing 3 of our starters.

While I agree that is a weakness, every team has some weaknesses, but major weaknesses keep you from getting to or getting far in the playoffs. If Pels get healthy and get continuity with the big three, there is a lot that can be overcome. Probably won’t win the Western division this year, but you never know and Pels are not the only team that can have key injuries.

seems like they can’t get a solid win streak going. I know BI has been battling injuries, but what else is keeping this team from being one of the better contenders?

did you know that zion is out?
herb jones?

no team can go on a win streak without 3 starters.

the other pels are pros too and they can win one here and there without the starters.

as for streaks, some other teams will play well enough to beat the 86 celtics one game and its the one game pels play them. it happens. the other guys are pros too. when this happens you see the head banger jokes.

fwiw 86 Cs had Walton 6th man of the year. bird. mchale. the chief. even they lost some games.

got it?

ps. they are a contender.
healthy.

Find me a team which doesn’t rely heavily on its top two guys. Pels actually have more depth than most other teams.

The fact that we are treading water w/o our two stud players tells you how good of a team we actually have.

Basically? This team relies heavily on their top two guys. Like a lot. And this team is awful on the road without them because the role players can only play good at home, or against trash teams on the road. A lot of people got sucked into the media saying this was the best bench in the league...yeah at home lol.

We're playing roughly .500 ball, maybe 1 game under without both of our best 2 players.

How many teams do you think would do the same?
