Assuming we stay on the cheapskate side of the luxury tax by moving one or more of Posey/Songaila/Juju, who can we use that cap space and our trade exceptions on? You cannot combine multiple trade exceptions, and I don't think we want to give up our first, so it has to be a player or players who's salary matches or is less than the trade exception and who's team is looking to dump him.

For example LA would trade us Sasha Vujacic and a 1st rounder for our MoPete trade exception in a heart beat. Kosta Koufos is another player that was reported to be on the dump market.

Hornets Trade Exceptions:
Hilton Armstrong $2,801,198
Antonio Daniels $2,074,000
Mo Pete $6,200,000
Rasual Butler $4,045,000
Bobby Brown $736,420

Here is an example of a non-simultaneous trade: a team trades away a $2 million player for a $1 million player. Sometime in the next year, they trade a draft pick (with zero trade value itself) for a $1.1 million player to complete the earlier trade. They ended up acquiring $2.1 million in salary for their $2 million player -- they just didn't do it all at once, or even necessarily with the same trading partner.

In the above example, after the initial trade of the $2 million player for the $1 million player, it was like the team had a "credit" for one year, with which they could acquire up to $1.1 million in salaries without having to send out salaries to match. This credit is often referred to as a Traded Player exception or a trade exception, but be aware that the CBA uses the name "Traded Player exception" to refer to the entire exception which allows teams to make trades above the salary cap (including simultaneous trades, non-simultaneous trades, and base year compensation).

I dont want Vujabitch

I hope we're able to get better than him as well, but if we don't I'd rather have a 1st plus his expiring and 3 point shooting in a contract year than let the cap space go to waste. A late pick like that is the type of asset Demps can turn into a future starter. But I really only mentioned him because he's the most obvious example that came to mind.
