Who do you realistically think the Pels could get next Thursday?

That is the trade deadline for those of you who did not know. And I mean realistically. So no random trade machine (im talking to you lsuguy). I know Danny Ainge is shopping Jeff Green hard right now and I would love to have him. What would it take to get him? Not sure exactly but if Dell wanted him he could get it done.

I bet we don't do anything big and we all come away disappointed.

Who knows what's in the works... we won't hear much of anything until closer to this weekend. There haven't been many hints to anything other than Gordon being on the block and trying to move Rivers.

I would think Ainge is seeking to shed salary, not add it if they intend to trade Green.

I keep coming back to Wilson Chandler. If Gallo wasn't injured for the year, I think a Gordon - Chandler swap would be beneficial for both clubs.

As it is now, Gordon, Roberts and Aminu for Chandler, Miller and filler could still work.

I've said it many times, but I don't think we do anything of note.

Just a question, this thread seemed like a good place to ask it, why do they need to make a move by the dead line?

This season, with a trade or not, is most likely not going to end up with a playoff spot.

Why not wait until the end of the year to make any potential trades?

I'm not against making a move in the next week, just curious as to why everyone feels like a trade needs to happen before the deadline?

I'll hang up and listen.

PS I love this board.

@MRWiseGuy...I agree. I think both sides benefit and our fans benefit because they wont have to bitch about Gordon anymore. I like Chandler but Gallo has more potential if he can bounce back from his injury

You cant make trades after the trade deadline until the offseason. Im not sure if thats what you're asking

Yeah, guess I wasn't being specific enough.

End of the season = off season to me.

My bad

There could potentially be some teams who are on the cusp of making the playoffs (or less likely, teams taking a step to being contenders) that might be looking to make a move for a contributor (Gordon, for example).

So it wouldn't really be us trying to force a move, but more likely it would be someone interested in a trade with us.

They don't. An article by Zach Lowe earlier said teams are "prizing flexibility" and everyone wanting to move a bad deal is pretty much stuck with it until the offseason.

I think I see us as a potential facilitator in trades. The Kings and Wizards both want Andre Miller from Denver. Maybe Denver has more interest in say Aminu and Roberts than any of the spare parts Was/Sac is offering. Sac can give us Gray,Acy and a 2nd. Washington can give us similar scrub big filler and a 2nd.

Got it.

Better chance of getting decent rotation guys at the deadline as opposed to the off season where teams are more inclined to make bigger moves.

Aminu and Roberts

Would dance for joy if I didn't have to see either for one more minute in a Pels uniform.

I'm more realistically expecting Rivers/Aminu/Pierre/Miller

Honestly no one. I was hopeful this FO could get it done this year but at this point I'm expecting us to do a whole lot of nothing

Moscona was talking Rivers trade on AFR today as if it was breaking news (yes, I know he doesn't watch hoops)... Anyway, he sounded sold, but probably knows nothing more than any of us.
