We'll see if he goes by the CP3 playbook and gets his people to start feeding the media negative stories soon

At that point in time its already over, its just a matter of how long can you make him stay here and what kind of pieces in a trade can we get for him

He may want out now but the Pels are under no obligation to move him. He's in the first year of his new contract. However, if they haven't improved after Jrue returns and make more additions next offseason that can help this team (+ new coach and GM) then I would press hard for it

I think at this point only the most delusional sunshine pumper expects him to play out the remainder of this contract in New Orleans

Its just a matter of time now

I didn't say he would play out the contract I just mean under no circumstance are the Pels going to cave this early. A year or two from now is a different story

3-4 years, at the earliest.

There's zero chance we can get even 50% worth his value from a team, so there's zero reason why we'd ever trade him with this many years left on his deal. It would be horrible mismanagement...oh wait.

Now when he has 1-1.5 years left on his contract, and if we're still not a contender, and the writing is on the wall, you certainly start to see if you can move him. You're still not getting good value, but it's better than just losing him for nothing.

What's sad is that if Dell Demps knew how to be a GM, he'd fire Gentry now before this gets worse. This roster is absolutely pathetic and if I was Demps, I'd ship off Asik to whoever would take him and find someone that AD wants to play with. Try to trade for some of his Kentucky buddies, anyone that could keep him here.

Remember the buzzword at Media Day was "process". I really don't think they had a strong belief they were contending for anything this year but also don't think they thought it would be this bad

Why start this thread after a game where AD goes 3-13 with a -24 +/- and makes no shots when we need him down the stretch? I agree that he'll be gone before the end of his deal, but this particular game was on him.

Why would you want the youngest out of the top 5-6 players in the league off of your team, especially when we already are getting picks because we suck?

Also, if we rebuild with our current coaching staff and GM it can only get worse without AD

Unless he's prepared to sit he has no trade demand leverage right now, but he should be able to get people fired and pick their replacements.

This. Our only hope is to fully make it his team.
