All of the coaching lists involve coaches such as Van Gundy, hoiberg, calapari, Thibodeau, and other assistants that everyone can make a case for. Why no love for Tom Izzo. Every year Izzo's name is brought up, and it seems that he is willing to listen. I think his teams are always playing a physical style of play on both ends with athletic players all over the court.

I think obviously he would have taken the cavs job last year if he knew that lebron was going to be there for sure. With AD and the athletic core that we have now that I think resembles some of his great tourney teams I don't see why he isn't getting love for the coaching search. We know our front office keeps their cards close and do not release much to the public. Anybody think that the so called contact with joe dumars was in some way to communicate with Izzo??

PS no troll job here, I have had izzo as my favorite coach for a long time and would love to see what he can do in the NBA with a selfless superstar like AD

Didn't some reporter mention Izzo as a possibility recently?

He is 60 years old and has it made at Mich State, so not sure why he would leave, but I would listen.

Not sure he is an X and Os guy, more of a motivator, right? And he has never coached in the NBA at any level, even as an assistant. Just food for thought.

The so called contact with Dumars was not so called, it reportedly happened during football season, way before they fired Monty. I see no reason to think Loomis is lying about this being Demps' coaching search. If he were going to install Dumars in any official role he'd have just done it.

That was Ken Berger speculating on the direction the team would go if Dumars was involved.

I know age would be somewhat of an issue, but I just don't see how he hasn't gotten as much mention after every other offseason in the past him being mentioned and at least listening to offers.

Probably because he's mentioned after every offseason and has never left Michigan State. Why mention him again when there are other coaches to mention?

Age isn't that big of a deal. He's only 60, Alvin gentry is 60 too, he's actually older than izzo.

I think if calapari is and Donavan would have been on our wish list then izzo should be right there with them... He's never ruled it out, and has arguably a better resume than both of the previous coaches I've listed.

Izzo says, "never say never."

I don't think anyone has a clue on what the front office other than what is being reported. I guess just dreaming big as a big time izzo ball fan

Not gonna happen since he has it all at MSU, but I'd love this.

The only reason he doesn't have more titles is because guys like Coach K and Cal are all world recruiters. Yet you still see MSU teams consistently overachieve and reach the Elite 8/Final 4. He's easily one of the best coaches in the game.

People have given you all kinds of reasons. You don't want to listen to anyone though. That's cool. But you should have just started a "We should go after Izzo" thread.

There you go changed the title for ya... but you have not given me a reason and I cannot tell if you would not want tom izzo or if you just don't think there's a chance in hell he leaves Michigan st

Maybe we can get Izzo and then hope Draymond wants to play for his college coach for a discount

He's Restricted. If he gave us a discount, he'd be giving GSW a discount, because they would just match.

Felipe's >>>> Izzo's

Are there any locations other than Decatur, though.
