I know some on here don’t like him but he’s the tough guy on our team that every team needs going against a league that is getting bigger and bigger. What is our cap situation? If he would take a 2 year $25 million deal he would be worth every penny. I like our bigs. Nance is the best type of guy to rotate with big Jonas and I also think we have a pretty good big that’s getting better in Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. The most important thing is that I believe JV and his family want to be in New Orleans so I could see him taking a small pay cut to stay and also help the club with our young guys we have to pay. It would be unwise to break this group up right when they have all learned how to play together.

NBA isn’t getting bigger n bigger…it’s getting longer and faster…and of course “from deep’r”….I love jv on the team because of his toughness and offensive touch. But as we all know, nba has quickly gone away from the traditional “big man”…
JV is a problem on defense in many matchups because these new bigs are running circles around him. Would still kill for him to be us for cheap. And he’s previously said he wants to be in Nola

JV has actually played really good D this year. He’s especially blocking more shots and his 3 point shot is legit now. I just think it would be a bad move to mess with chemistry and a big man the team likes. Every squad needs that enforcer. We have more long wings than most every team but you have to have a big man against guys like Jokic and Embiid.

Well, we don't have the ability to upgrade from Jonas in the offseason without giving up other, very valuable assets, so I agree that we need to bring him back.

I don't think that he wants to leave. His wife and kids live in New Orleans with him, and his kids are in school there.

So, if we give him a competitive contract offer, I expect him to take it.

I hope that we can draft his long-term replacement, though.

Is griffin going to bring him back after not offering him a contract?

I know Jonas is a good guy but it seems like you will have to offer him more money than it would've cost you.

I would love JV back. He’s not our long term center obviously but he can easily give us 18-20 minutes a night of solid center play for the next 2 years while you search for that long term solution

I like Jonas off the bench. Someone a little more well rounded to start.

They will give him the MLE.
Most teams in contension won't be able tyo give him more than that.

I doubt he will go to a team that is re-building for more money.

I'd love to have JV feast off the bench and somehow add a staring C using Larry's salary and some firsts.

Despite any flaws, he’s very much a positive for the roster. Even if the league is moving away from the “traditional” big, JV presents a nightmare matchup problem for many opponents.

Definitely…I agree…on offense…but when it’s playoff time and opposing offenses are keying on jv’s slow feet is when it’s becomes too much. Can’t have our starting center playing 7 minutes. Two years ago pheonix won the series on Jonas defending their pick n roll
