It sucks, I know. But no other road team was as competitive as the Pels in round 1. And without our best player.

I know the best player isn’t likely to impact the series. But if I learned one thing last night it’s that the Pels CAN win this series.

It was a tough fought game. It looks like OKC’s strategy is going to be to key in on BI defensively and make the rest of the team beat them. BI is either going to have to play more physical and go to the rim or he is going to have to be a distributor. Taking contested midrange jumpers isn’t going to get it done this series. JV also needed mote 4th Q minutes last night. I thought Larry had some good moments like night but JV on Chet could’ve really worn him down in the 4th. If Chet beats you from long range you live with it.

We're fine. We were bigger than them and it showed. Push the ball and get to the rim.

Herb was only 2-10 (2-8 from 3PT) last night - I don't think that happens again. If one more of those goes down, we win.

Steal game 2.

Willie WILL NOT play him in that spot. He'd rather get fired (which he won't now)

Don't worry. OKC will blow us out next game. Sweep incoming. Great season Pels.

Yall ever stop to think OKC played like shite because our length and defense made them play like shite?

Raise your hand if you had Trey Murphy playing elite defense all game and stopping Shai to the rim multiple times

If we get defense from Trey like that all series, I like our chances.

I think that losing that game in that manner will be crushing. Would have been better to gave lost by 14.

You outrebound them +8 and out offensive rebound them +10. You hold the most accurate 3P team in the league (38.9%) to 31.3% on 32 attempts. Refs let ya play for the most part and kept SGA off the line. There’s not going to be a more favorable opportunity to take advantage of in this series

The back to back possessions where we immediately turned over the defensive rebs, the four bricks off of the offensive rebounds. This is Mickey Mouse bullshite that costs you games

If you have any chance of winning a series, THAT is the game you must steal last night. It has to happen.

They didn't, so they won't.

Normally I’d agree, but the Pels are awful at home so giving them credit for playing well on the road isn’t saying much.

The New Orleans Sports Mantra

Well, we almost did it

If only we were healthy, it would be different

Nah, they can't.

But certainly proud of the effort and performance. Winning that game 1 would have given us an outside chance to take the series, but with that loss, we aren't winning this series.

frick YES GAME 2 DUB CONFIRMED

In all seriousness our defensive effort is what is giving me hope. They played young and inexperienced last night, and to an extent we did too, but the Pels lost that game more than the Thunder won it. Shai was visibly shook in the first half. Herb is already ruining his life.

and you’re not wrong. OKC didn’t play their best either and if they were to be had, last night was it.

I predicted us to win game 2 and 5 and lose series in 6 games in another thread. Still think it’s possible we can extend this series to 6 games but if we were going to shock the league and take the series, last night was our chance and we blew it.
