Scott Kushner ?@ScottDKushner 3m3 minutes ago Demps says Tyreke Evans experienced tightness in his calf and he will not play tomorrow night. He's expected back "sooner than later"

Perhaps he is being held out until closer to Dec 15 and then get 3-4 games of play. Hmmmm

Every game missed adds $100,000 to the money that gets traded with him.

Then it's an extra $100,000 to buy out Gentry.

Pelicans Training staff has removed Tyreke's leg to relieve the tightness in his calf.

And that's why the production he bring compared to what we can get for him doesn't match. At best we would get a low second.

Kind of irrelevant since he won't be resigned. Whatever you can get for him would be better than getting nothing, if its an asset.

I mean if he comes back and we go on some kind of crazy win streak it might be a different story.

Well we are trying to win. If he can help us get a better record and make us appealing to top tier FA that's better value than a trade.

Alvin Gentry said when Evans returns, he envisions him in a similar role to the one Lance Stephenson had with the Pelicans.

I think the team was serious about bringing Lance back when he's healthy. He's a cheaper Tyreke that will settle for a bench role.

I was a big a Tyreke defender. I've always said that he's one of the biggest mismatches in the L. But I really think you're getting your hopes up the he's the same Tyreke of two years ago after all these surgeries. I just don't see it. I hope he is tho.

I've been as harsh as anyone on the medical/training staff but calling them out here is unfair. We knew he had developed a clot during rehab and they were keeping an eye on it. They can't magically make players healthy, all they can do is help them heal smartly. The wrong thing to do would be ignoring this problem, send him out there and a few games later he's done for the year.
