He always mentions strength as his off season goal.

Dude want get enough shots are points to be in the running for that award. Look at the season Bane had and he still didn't win it. Trey is going to be amazing for us in his role but people forget we have Zion and BI who going to avg 25 plus each and CJ with his usually 20 points after that they want be that many shots to go around.

Yeah, he we know he grew an inch, but he looks like he added 15 pounds of muscle.

Whenever I’d post about Trey as the future small ball 5 I’d get more down votes than I expected because I guess they saw a skinny kid. Hopefully people can see it now, because it solves a lot of roster issues if he can keep growing bigger and stronger and more mobile with the ball at the same time.

I called Trey a Klay Thompson/Rudy Gobert hybrid with a 40 inch vert a few weeks ago.

Let them keep sleeping.

I think his build is similar to cam Johnson but his athleticism is reminiscent of BI. And his play style is almost a mix of them 2. Trey Was very solid Defensively but has the room to grow into a very good defender. He’s a smooth, confident, catch and shoot long range guy, and isn’t scared to take shots while also not usually getting too carried away if his shot isn’t falling. I think his career will prove him to be In The middle of Ingram and cam Johnson. I think he’s got more potential than Johnson because he has more potential in his versatility on offense and defense and is more athletic with a similar demeanor to him and also Brandon Ingram. Now, switching to Ingram, he isn’t the pure scorer Ingram is and don’t think he ever will be. But I think he has a couple season worth of 20 ppg potential in his career. Also Ingram has grown a ton as a defender abs Trey should be even better defensively through his career.
1. Ingram

2. Trey

3 cam Johnson

I didn't think he was all that impressive today tbh outside of the threes. Handle still suspect and was playing against witches hats

He is going to have a huge season.

I can't believe how much bigger he looks.

To my eye he even looks more athletic and comfortable.

Its fricking crazy. Dude is a solid arse 6'10, long, and can jump with the best of them, all while being a knockdown shooter

Literally a perfect basketball player for the modern NBA

Good news is he’s not going to have to create off the dribble all that much on our team. I love that he is trying to develop that aspect of his game though. Truth be told, he is so tall and long, if he can just maximize his footwork, he can probably get away with the handle he has considering all the attention Zion, BI, CJ, Jonas draw.

I agree that he can def be better than Cam Johnson.

My Klay/Gobert comp is a def hyperbole due to Trey’s growth spurt. But What if the kid keeps growing and improved his handle and overall finishing? Dude might end up being a better shooting version of Pascal Siakam if everything goes right for him development wise. I really don’t want to put a ceiling on Trey of just simply being an elite role player. I know he works hard and his frame is tantalizing. His spot up shooting is already elite and the rest of his game seems to be developing nicely.

Most Improved Player of the Year?

3rd and 4th year players who are Top-10 lottery picks win this award.
Zion is 25-1 at most sites FWIW

Zion was so dominant I think he’d have to basically turn into some sort of freakish 30-10-4 type player to win.

Guy I think should have a strong case will be Ant. Anthony Edwards averaged 21ppg but leveled up in the playoffs to 25ppg, more aware on defense, and as the season went on was more efficient shooting. Was like 37 to 38% from three on high volume the last 40ish games he played.

If he carries that over he’ll be hard to beat in terms of year to year growth.

Hopefully Trigga spent the entire offseason learning how to properly switch and rotate on defense. For a guy with damn near elite on the ball defense, he looked like a baby giraffe when playing team defense.

I think people took this post too literally. He wont win the award obviously but he should definitely be in discussion for it and 6 man of the year if he lives up to this pre season hype. Kid has been putting the work in. He could average 15+ off the bench next season
