The Oklahoma City Thunder has waived forward Usman Garuba, team says.

I think the Pels should take a flyer on him as a backup big.

Nobody, there's an open roster spot available.
Would involve digging a little deeper into the the tax though.

We need another big and he's a great fit. Tax be damned.

There's no reason to flirt with the tax until we prove we can stay healthy and at minimum be a top 4 team in the west.

We are already over the tax. Kira is the way to get below the tax. If we can get Garuba on a 2-way, that would even be better.

Garuba is solid. As someone that actually watched like 50 Rockets games last year. They brought him in a lot for defensive purposes and to my surprise he also can randomly hit corner 3’s.

The Rockets really just don’t really have room for him on their team between Sengun, Jabari, and Tari Eason all commanding significant minutes and all having significantly more offensive talent.

Javale McGee is being stretched and waived but the Mavs. He would be a good option in a limited role.

That vet minimum is probably pricy for us in our position, but definitely agree.
