The two best SF free agents next year are Otto Porter and PJ Tucker. If you think this class is weak you are in for a big dissapointnent next year.
What about Antetokounmpo, Hayward, Gallinari or Gay?

Antetokounmpo is a RFA, he isn't going anywhere and Gordon has to opt out first (which he probably will). Gallinari plays 50 games a year and gay isn't good.

We are gonna suck this year, own it.

Why would we suck? If we are healthy, we should be pretty decent, at least a .500 team. There's no reason a healthy AD and Jrue, with some decent FA signing can't do well this year.

If we do suck, which i agree we probably will, then get rid of Uncle Alroy, get a head coach that isnt' a proven loser, get another decent draft pick, another decent FA signing and by 2019 we should be championship material. I have high hopes.

Outside of the players that make it a great free agent class it's not a great free agent class.

But next year, when you include the players that make it a not weak free agent class, it's not a weak free agent class.

Logic is sound.

I like Bazemore but I agree with others he's too small to be out main 3. He will always have match up issues with bigger 3's. He's already 28 and has a raw offensive game that depends a lot on his athletic ability.

Kind of why I liked Fisher's plan of signing both Dudley and Bazemore. Versatile lineups with those two, Jrue, AD, Hield, QPon and others in a variety of packages.

Yeah its kind of the opposite of the feast and famine type contrast we had the last couple years. Instead of one-way utility players you get high IQ, multi-dimensional two way players to replace them.

Ryno gives you sexy numbers but I think that is misleading to an extent. For instance I would feel much more comfortable in a close game down the stretch with Jrue, Evans/Qpon/Hield, Bazemore, Dudley/Cunningham and Davis closing out a game then Jrue, Gordon, Evans, Ryno and AD.

Its a closing lineup you don't have to worry about needing to always out shoot the opponent because you have almost all two way players on the court that can get stops and keep you from breaking down on either side of the ball. Its a blue collar closing lineup but I think a more effective one that could give us a few more wins in those close games then we would of gotten otherwise.

Yeah, we might have to do it by committee. I'd hate to lock in to a less than great solution at SF, but waiting isn't necessarily going to get us our SF either. The important thing is to not miss on whoever we go after. This team needs to build up it's asset base so it can be in the discussion for a disgruntled Butler or Paul George or maybe attracting Hayward.

I think that last sentence is a good argument for why you go after a Bazemore/Dudley instead of going all in on a Barnes or Parsons.

Those two players are better values and are more moveable pieces. So they have a much lower likelihood of turning into negative assets and a decent chance to remain at or above their asset value at signing. If you want to position yourself to make a major move, you need those type of contracts lying around.

Good plan but Dudley is more of a 4 than a 3 now. He hasn't played mainly at 3 in 2 years now. I would rather a Baze/Hill combo or save money and get a Harkless/Dudely combo.

Also with Baze I don't think his shooting is sustainable. He started the season great but it fell off drastically the end of the year.

Looking at it you are right, Bazemore did hit an ugly shooting slump post all star and into the playoffs. Two years in a row actually.

Still would take him over Barnes at 20-22 million.

Don't think he's even going to look elsewhere. He stays in Charlotte.

Yet ANY signing will be an upgrade. I'd take Bazemore in a heartbeat. But Barnes Batum And Parsons are solid options. I don't think it's that bad.
