Willie has gone to this a few times recently when teams just ignore JV and Larry to pack the paint. I'm curious to see what the no center lineup looks like with BI back.

To me the single most important thing to come out of this season is figuring out what they need to add to Zion/BI/Herb/Trey. Does it need to be a small ball 5, or can they get by without one and add another shooter or ball handler? Ideally you'd like one player that brings all of that, but we know that unicorn isn't walking through the door anytime soon.

What do they need to add and how do they get that player?

BI or not, the center position needs to be Val, then Zion, then go by committee, maybe even Nance getting 8 or so of those minutes a night.

I feel like that is just so obvious, I can't understand why Nance is still being trotted out there and getting the most center minutes.

It's crazy. I would rather play 48 minutes without a center than nance

Sometimes I wonder what this team would look like with a proper point guard that can get the team into an offensive set and just get BI and Zion 2-3 easy baskets a game each. Zion and BI are forced to take too many tough contested attempts.

As long as Nance gets the most minutes at the 5, we're playing 4 on 5 so I'm not sure it would be as helpful as we'd want it to be.

Willie's decisions at the 5 is the biggest issue with this team right now.

I’d like to see Dyson, Herb, Trey, BI, Zion
Pretty switchable on D

Dys drive and dish, don’t really need him to score, just knock down those open 3s….Herb and Trey shooting, BI in the mid and Zion wrecking ball

Flock it.

I just have no idea what Griff and Langdon were thinking when they doubled down on a Val-Nance combo at the center position. They're fine players and gentlemen but just do not fit in so many ways for what this team wants to do.

At this point, Pels are going to be forced to run a lot of small-ball lineups without Val or Nance. Committee of Zion, BI, Tre, and Dyson manning the post until they get this fixed.

They were aggressively trying to upgrade it at the deadline. It takes 2 to make a trade. The problem is Nance fell off hard this year. The stats may look the same but it's night and day. He just cant jump like he used to. He now provides no rim protection and we give up offensive rebounds like crazy when he's out there.

Me too.

Dyson is hitting 41% of his corner threes this year. Only 49 attempts, but still a good number. He was 36% the year before on just 26 attempts.

He's shooting 23% from 3 from everywhere else. Was 31% last year.

Stick him in the damn corner. He finishes at the rim at 64% in his first 2 years, so he's not just a corner 3 threat.

I love CJ, but I really do think we need to trade him this offeseason. he's an elite 3 point shooter, and his shooting is not just catch and shoot 3's which is why he's elite at 3 point shooting, but if he's not goign to help us close games and not be a good defender, is he really worth $33M/yr while Hawkins sits the bench and can provide near the same skill set?
