Jeff green is going to get a 13-14 mil offer

Which is insane by 2012 cap standards yet appears to be the new normal we're headed towards. On the plus side, most of the overpaying happens early in the clock. Rivers isn't as guaranteed gone as you think, he is unique in being as young as he is, but there are quite a few more proven backup guards on the market. If teams didn't want to pick him up for free this offseason, why are you assuming there will be a big market to pay more than $3 million for him next offseason?

pieces for a S&T and we just declined an option on a $3m one. Do you see my points now?

I'm not saying there are no advantages to picking up Rivers option or that I'd be upset if they had. I'm saying the fact that they declined the option says they value maximizing cap space this offseason and targeting a SF is likely the reason why.

Sounds like something my 13 year old would come up with. Good try for him tho.

I'm 8 so I'm way above my level.
