am i the only one who wants to somehow keep Holiday, but clean house with everyone we can besides AD and Buddy, then get a scoring SF

I feel like everyone under appreciates Jrue, I think he is just denied access to his full potential because he has two people on his team that he can actually set up shots for consistently

If the opposing defense actually had to guard people on the perimeter (Hill and DC for example) then no one could just sit in gaps and help every time Jrue tries to make a play. I just think the team would be better off at getting better sooner rather than later by having a core of Jrue/AD/SF free agent

However, without a SF free agent i think you clean house and tank to give AD some sort of hope

It's hard to see how they get better by letting him walk vs. keeping him. I also think he plays a big role in the defensive turn around. But if they have a set amount they won't go above then they probably need to go ahead and trade him because it's likely someone will throw money at him.

His injury history is what bothers me, but like EG, he'll likely go somewhere else and never be hurt.

I like Jrue, and i'd like to keep him going forward. He's a great 3rd option to have. But he doesn't need $20M+ with his injury history, or even his play. I'd love him back at around $15M at most. I don't see Buddy becoming some scoring all star type player, but he definitely has a role as a starter on this team in the future. Playing small ball with Hill or DC is just fine, as long as it's just one of them.
We need that scoring SF.
Jrue
Buddy
new SF
Hill/DC
AD
I have no problem with that. How good that SF is will determine how good we can be. If he can be Paul George/Kawhi Leoanard/Gordon Hayward, we are a championhip contending team. If he's Harrison Barnes/Tobias Harris/Otto Porter, we likely are still a good team but wont' get over the hump, like the Clippers and Grizzlies have been, unless we hit on the draft and get some young cheap talent that contributes greatly. Anything else and we are still just a team that will hover around .500 for the most part.

I'm ready to move on from anyone not named AD or Buddy.

Trade them all.

Trade him, see what you can get.

Dangle him out to the Knicks and several contender teams and play them off the Sixers interest. See if you can get SOMETHING.

At this point it seems that the idea of a discount is out the window. You either overpay to keep him, and that may not even do it, or take the gamble out of the equation and trade him for assets. Same with Evans.

For Holiday you have to get an actual asset of some sort.

Trading him just for expirings or into nothing does no good, you can just let him walk.

Have to get either young players on rookie deals or a comparable player on a longer deal, or draft picks.

Tyreke I'm ok getting literally anything that isn't an albatross/long-term contract.

Everyone else firesale to just get rid of the contracts.

I think Holiday is definitely undervalued by many people on here and think he is one of the better all around players at his position. I would be interested in the Pelicans spending to retain him; however, if they can not they obviouly need to work to maximize return on a trade.

I understand it is business, but I think the professional thing to do would for him to be upfront if he is going to allow the Pels to match other offers and if he will operate in good faith towards an extension. The Pels invested a ton in him and have treated him like he was a much bigger piece than his production has warranted. He doesn't have to fell obligated, but he should allow the Pels to get return for him in a trade.
