Jaxson has the rare mix of size and athleticism that will very soon be necessary and more valuable to match up with one of the best prospects ever coming into the league. Who are some others that may be able to defend a guy like this?

Simmons
AD
KD
Porzingis
Mitchell Robinson
Bol Bol?
Off the top of my head, it seems like a very short list of competent NBA players who could match up with him

Jaxson has trouble guarding anyone and would be scorched by any of the players on that list. Just because you’re long and athletic doesn’t mean you’re good at defense.

I agree he has trouble guarding anyone. But do we think JV, Billy, Larry, or BI would be able to guard Victor better than Jax?

You're not wrong in that Hayes is the only guy on the roster who has tools to guard Wembanyama. Unfortunately, his tools aren't enough right now. He's going to have to be a lot better on the mental aspect of playing defense to maximize his defensive potential. I haven't seen it yet.

Everyone on your list can guard Victor W better than Jaxson Hayes.

Deandre Ayton shot 70% from the floor against us over 6 games. At this point in time, any meaningful defense from Jaxson against elite NBA bigs exists only in the land of make believe.
