As bad of a probable season ending injury it is, is this not the best season ending situation Zion has had during his short pelican career? Dude went out balling with a season high on national tv and ending on a short term not overly serious ending injury that should not hamper too much of his offseason continued progress.

This is the best thing you posted in a while and I totally agree.

This season already took a swing for the worse by somehow not making the playoffs. If Zion avoided major injury and can begin training in the offseason full go and be a better version of Zion for game 1 then it is what it is. We were never going to go far with our bigs, get a healthy Zion for game 1 and get us an elite big. We’ll be alright

it also goes to show the shite show of years and situations zion has dealt with during his young years. his second half season progress and his apparent commitment to being in better shape was noticeable. He also appears to be in much better mental spirits and maybe even wondering down the road of maturity further.

Agreed. Lot of Zions crap is his own doing BUT you wonder what a competent organization like thunder or heat would have better helped with his progression. This organization in so many ways has not helped him and thats on Griffin.

While we obviously would've been the 7-seed in the playoffs by pre-Play-In standards...
Should we lose Friday... the Pelicans will have the unheralded distinction of having the best record in a NBA season and NOT make the playoff field

Going 49-33 and not making the playoffs has to be something only the Pels could pull off

Also first 7 seed in Play-In history not to make playoffs.

Good. I want all the fire on this FO. They've been coasting and running it back year after year while the warchest of assets have quietly dwindled.

Only 1 other team in NBA history has won 49 games and missed the playoffs: 1972 Phoenix Suns
