I vividly remember many posters claiming that Evans should play the 3... He's evolved into more of a versatile pg.
My how things have changed.
I still think he plays the 2 and Gordon hits the road. Jack

I searched 3 guard on google and the first results that came up were about hair clipping. After that, the options that came up were about 3 guard lineups.
So, no. sorry, you're an idiot, that term is not used in basketball terminology.

I say no but I don't want him gone as much as most people. If we could trade him and get rid of his contract or get some decent players in return go for it. But I still would rather have him play then Roberts. He at least has the ability to be competent at times.

So you google it and see that there are 3 guard line-ups used in basketball and then say it's not a term used in basketball.
You must've grew up in the 2000's and never played high school ball.

Evans is a 2...everyone knows this...a major reason the team went after Evans is because they wanted insurance for/to move on from Gordon.
...only the dumbs can't see this
Evans is a 2...he could be a 1...3 is last

Yes.
Hornets/Pelicans are:
34-43 in games he played (44%)
28-73 in games he didn't play (28%)
I know he has played a much higher percentage of games with the more talented Pels than with the struggling Hornets, so of his games with the Hornets:
Hornets:
22-28 in games he played (44%)
26-72 in games he didn't play (26%)
That comes out to 14-15 extra wins over an 82 game season. But according to some, winning 2 home games when he wasn't playing is more telling than all of that. It really is unbelievable that anyone who fancies themselves an NBA fan would use a sample size of 3 games instead of the available 178 to make their opinions.
I know he is overpaid but there is not an unlimited supply of good players in the NBA to buy. It isn't an open market where the opportunity cost will always be higher than the benefit if you are overpaying.

quote:yes but you are using win loss totals from an extremely different team. with the squad we have now Gordon is expendable and we have a severe need to upgrade the 3 and 5 positions which we won't be able to do with his contract. last year I would've agreed we need to keep Gordon. this year not so much

Rivers/Roberts/Morrow and to some extent Aminu are still D-leagueing it up for a lot of minutes.
What makes you think Gordon taking away 35 of their combined minutes wouldn't have a massive effect on the season win total?
I understand we are desperately lacking a Center but I'm not convinced any of the PLAUSIBLE options we have at this point will be worth more than Gordon.
I would be thrilled if we trade raped some team or found a good free agent center who really wanted to play next to Davis. I just don't think that is likely. Therefore, I vote yes.

Gordon's chubbiness allows his slow arse to get to the rim. If he lost weight, he would be worse guaranteed.
The fact is he's a good shooter and we need the guard play.
