some stats from last nite

-holiday 37.3 PER w/71.3% Assist rate
-AD 13/16 once holiday entered the game
-pels season high on FG% (over 50%!), 3PT % (38%), and total assists
-no player had a negative on/off (ajinca would have though)

Portland is a fraud unless they get supernova games from the backcourt. For the first time we saw perimeter defense bother good shooting guards, and holiday was clearly calling out defensive adjustments on the fly. Blazers had nobody to work TJones in the post so he was able to fly around and disrupt

pels rebounding numbers depressesed by a good shooting night but they are likely never going to be able to swing a game on the boards

At one point on a jump ball he made a confused looking Terrence Jones switch sides with him so Holiday was going against a guard and Jones was up against a big. Not trying to rip on Jones, but if their natural instinct is to do stupid things, then having a smart leader will help tremendously

unfortunately it was pretty quiet in the blender
you could hear holiday barking orders on D
the lack of reaching/flailing/spinning out of position on D was clearly noticeable

It fell to like a calmness on the floor when Jrue was in. Even when he fist came into the game

The offensive rebounds were skewed (this game) because we were actually making shots.

Jones has been a lot of fun to watch I like how we can go small and not really be small With AD and Jones. I also really like how both of them can dribbling and push the ball

Plus both of the are showing some athletic ability by being able to guard smaller players

I really wish Buddy would see the floor more. He is willing to play the 1 - 3 on defense

Still early in the season but I'm not sure what's going on here. Our defense somehow got worse even though we return the same team from last season. We can't stop anyone inside either

Plumlee puts up numbers at 5 the pels would kill for but he doesn't seem to affect the game
I'm more puzzled about crabbe's invisibilty and why the hell they signed turner

Lillard/McCollum/crabbe maxed out and that silly turner contract make Portland a house of cards if it doesn't work out. they do have good health though so they must be doing something right

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with any of the Portland bigs. They are a 2 man team as much as the Pels are.

I kind of liked Ed Davis game but he got into foul trouble early.
