I get that it's a fluff piece but some of the comments I find in the Eichenhofer's article, especially from Frazier I find interesting talking about how he (Jrue) was very helpful in his (Frazier's) acclimation to the team and offense. Sounds, to me, that Holiday is really liked in the locker room and is a leader. Also, in the article, it states that players are in constant communication with him.

I dare hope that despite Jrue's mild demeanor he actually loves here, wants to win, and wants to be here long term. I know some of you want to scream from the rooftops in disagreement.

Next offseason could be crazy. Lets say CP3 goes to the Spurs, that opens up the Clippers. Hometown team with Blake and DeAndre with enough cap space to sign Jrue. I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that the Pels are the best offer he gets. But that's one of the few situations where the grass would be greener and it requires quite a few other dominoes to fall first. Also, if that happens you have to think our chances of keeping AD plummet. Not only do you lose Jrue, but the Spurs become a super team again to rival the Warriors and AD might as well start looking east.

Great points.

We are coming up on the risk that was always looming with Demp's strategy of young veterans on second contracts.

When these contracts are up they will get expensive and have a much higher level of uncertainty due to their FA status.

Unless we're talking something like Gordon Hayward, I don't want to trade another pick until AD resigns. When CP3 left the cupboard was pretty bare. I think QPon might have been the only young asset he had that didn't come via the CP3 trade.

You already have Buddy and Diallo. There are 3 drafts between now and when AD can follow the CP3 plan. If you draft well you could become the new Boston if AD leaves with a collection of young, desirable assets. If you trade your picks for expensive players that don't help keep AD, you're right back where the Pelicans were when CP3 left. Remember when we all kept trying to convince ourselves Thomas Robinson and Eric Gordon would be a good core before we won the lottery? I'd much rather be like Boston than where the Hornets were when CP3 left.

Diallo could be a damn steal. Very excited to see if he gets some burn and plays well.
