Right exactly. How I see it is the only way for any team to grab a top point guard is if we keep number 4 and trade it to them.

I would have been ok with taking RJ at #3 if we made the knicks/AD trade. But im hoping garland falls to 4 and we get him or Ja but what im not ok with is use giving up assets for us to move up 1 or 2 spots to take RJ. I wanna just stay where we are and take BPA at 4. Thats whats best for us imo

there is just no way, IMO, that, if you do trade up to 2, you take anyone other than Morant...
the clear cut 2 best prospects in this draft are Zion and Morant, and if you have the top 2 picks, you'd have to be privy to unknown information (not likely, at this stage of the game) or incredibly stupid to go in any other direction...

This is all a ploy to make teams up their offers to convince the pelicans to not move up in the draft. This scenario would leave all the teams wanting the only other top point guard in the draft out of the picture, because Memphis/knicks has to take garland or morant in that scenario.

35% chance this is fake news made up by NYK to drive up the price of their own 3rd pick.

Memphis, as of right now, is not looking to move the 2nd pick. They have locked on to Morant and have been. Especially with the Conley trade. They're starting to feel really good about their young core for the future. I think these rumors are more to maybe entice teams into the Knicks pick.
