Wow.

I think it’s a no brainer he goes to Philly. But wow.

Would love for doc. I think he'd do well with developing our players.

I would love Doc here. I’m not sure if he’s interested in an up and coming team over a win now tho.

Maybe not, but the thought of coaching Zion has to be enticing to anyone.

I actually don't TBH.

He would basically be walking into the same situation he just got fired from. A hyper win-now organization that wants immediate results with the largely as constructed roster and will likely throw you aside afer 1, 2 seasons at most if you don't exceed what is an almost impossible level of expectations: championship berth or bust.

..Of course what do I know, 10 minutes ago I thought Doc would not be the direction Griffin would be interested in going.

The core of that Philly team isn't going to stay together for very long. Pelicans have a young team with assets to build into whatever team he would like it to be. If he's looking two or three years out, Pelicans are in a better position for long term stability.

He’ll bring Austin back next season when he becomes a free agent.

I think at this stage in his career, He will more than likely want a position that grants him the control of the roster.

That seems pretty out of vogue these days and I'm not sure based on his results that if a team considered it, they would offer it to him based on how it went last time.

Most coaches don't want to be GM, they want a GM they can trust that they're on the same page with. The FO situation should be attractive to most coaches.

I mean just the other year he turned what was expected to be a likely tank season into a playoff berth that involved a lot of young to young veteran players. Getting what has arguably been the best out of Harris(who they traded at the deadline but despite that still got to the playoffs and stole two games from GS). A playoff starting lineup of SGA(rookie), Shamet(21), Gallo, Beverley and a split between Jamychel Green and Zubac(21).

When you consider Griffin has preached the mantra of "sweat equity," the idea of balancing out young and veteran players on a squad, to the point of naseum, Doc did demonstrate pretty overwhelmingly he can excel in that situation.

These coaching searches are crazy you never know what situation these guys are looking for. Shoot who had Nash being the Nets coach or Billy Donovan taking the Bulls job, we just have to wait and see.

I'm not sure there has been a crazier offseason in terms of the coaching carousel? At least in recent memory.
