They got pretty lucky that year as LA and San Antonio were on the same side of the bracket.

I will say that it gives me a little bit of satisfaction that bitch Paul forced his way out and with all the money spent and deals the clippers have made, they still can't even get to the conference finals.

this franchise was such a clusterfrick at the time that no star in their right mind would've chose to stay. I don't blame him one bit, at least he let us get a return for him instead of just walking in free agency

The subject of the OP is a little misleading. The Hornets/Pelicans weren't in the West until 2004-2005 so for them, the stat includes both conferences.

Id love to just have a competitive team that can get in the playoffs every year. Will be hard to win a championship with teams like GS, SA, Cleveland (or wherever Bron is), OKC

Minus the passionate fan support. And history spanning beyond the year 2002.

It's actually alarming how bad our fanbase is. It's soo rare to see Pellies fans. When I tell people who my squad it's always three reactions: Who? Lol!, Or aww sorry.

This is your team's last chance IMO to put somebody next to AD. I can't see the Pel's being worse next year than they were this year with all the injuries.

They don't need to be a Superstar out of the gate. Just somebody with potential. Steven Adams was a nobody outside OKC until this year. Thompson was just another 3 point specialist until 2 years ago. It took a few injuries and roster turnover, but CJ McCollum is a 20 ppg guy after three years. The Pel's need someone worth AD sticking around for.

If not, maybe two years from now you can find a team wanting to win NOW and they offer you something like CLE did with Minnie. Or The Celtics dealing Jefferson for KG.

The clock certainly is ticking. AD won't and shouldn't sit around and waste his youth on this pitiful franchise.
