What would it take to bring him back to NOLA?

Tyreek?

I completely agree with TulaneFan. He's not that good. I guess he would be an upgrade from the garbage Asik and Ajinca, but I would not trade anything significant for this dude. I would for Okafor however.

Noel is a pretty god defensive player and while more defensive oriented players aren't what the Pels need at the moment, he definitely doesn't suck and I think he'd fit next to AD just fine

He's not an elite scorer but he's a really good defender and probably the perfect fit next to AD.

He'd fit next to AD just fine, but you have to remember he is due for a HUGE pay raise in a year.

If he fits as well as his promoters think, that means he will get a max. You are talking about, what? 20-26 million a year for Noel?

I would trade Tyreke/Ajinca for him. See how things go with him the rest of the year and if the price gets too high you let him walk. Nothing lost really since you weren't resigning Tyreke and you rid yourself of Ajinca.

But if you're talking 1st rounders I'm out.

My only issue with that is it comes off like lose/lose. If he is everything you want then he certainly becomes too expensive.

If he isn't everything you want then he is just an inflated potential contract and you likely hurt your draft positioning.

Philly wouldn't even entertain that offer though. Some of yall are undervaluing Noel. Dude is younger than Buddy and is already one of the best rim protectors in the league.

"Spaniard" posted a 3-team trade idea on PR, that netted us Noel. It seemed pretty realistic, unlike most trade ideas on fan forums. We got Noel and Monroe, while sending out Jrue, Asik, Moore, Jones and Ajinca. We kept our first rounder, which would almost certainly be a top 3 pick after moving Jrue. We could use that on a PG or SF, since this draft is loaded with several great prospects at both positions. I'd be all for that deal, but I like the idea of pairing AD with Noel a lot.

Thanks shreve. I'm Spaniard. Obviously I think it makes sense. But I also have a lot of faith in both Noel and Buddy to be long term starters. We shall see. Noel is going somewhere.

Compared to what Hill was paid I'd say that's a bargain and a half.

I agree man. If Noel stays healthy and continues to add weight, I think he'll be one if the best defending big men in the league. Unlike Asik, he can catch the ball and get those easy scores around the rim. With AD and Noel, we'd have an extremely long and athletic frontcourt, with tons of potential.

Meh I don't see the point of having both Monroe and Noel. No way we re-sign them both long term.

I love Pelicans fans shitting on Noel like we have anything remotely better than him on this roster outside AD.

The point was not to have Noel and Monroe. The idea really is to have Noel long term(while Jrue could walk for nothing), and to turn Moore, Asik and Ajinca's long term deals into Monroe who has a player option for only one more year. It would free us from a lot of obligations over the next few years.
